The Town

Hot Springs is a small, historic mountain town located where the French Broad River crosses the Appalachian Trail in Western North Carolina. The Appalachian Trail actually goes right down the sidewalk through town. It is mostly surrounded by National Forest and features the only natural hot springs in the state of North Carolina. Outdoor activities are abundant and include rafting, kayaking, hiking, backpacking, mountain biking, fly fishing, smallmouth fishing, muskie fishing, horseback riding and most can be done without getting into a car. The town is also located about 45 minutes from the vibrant downtown of Asheville, featuring many outstanding restaurants, art galleries, live music venues and more.
